Denial

I have a father
who denies me
A father denied by his father
A father who has fathered many

But, Fathered few

I am his child.
I’ll not deny him.
He has my love
though he denies it.
He has my grief
though he’d despise it.

I have a father
so little mine,
so little left, here.
I have a father.
I’ll keep him near.

A father to me
who is so dear.

A heartbreaking write my dear Carolyn. So many father's deny their own children. My son's father was one of them. He was never been in his life and He missed out on the most wonderful young man's life...sad thing is though, is my son denies he has a father now.

Debbie, this is so sad. You sound like an amazingly strong person, though you are bearing great hurt. Hoping things change for the better, as I cannot stand the thought of you not being accepted and loved in return. Deeply emotional as my heart goes out to you. Love, Shar

This is filled with a sad, bittersweet emotion. Being denied is a painful thing to bear...even when there is love still apparently there. Well written, a lot of heart in this one. ~ Carrie
