Dementia

Have you forgotten you have dementia I've been gravely expressing my feelings how you left the stove on again and again I have reminded you it's morning not night But you insist on breakfast at 11 pm the staying up weeping believing you're with child you're a great grandmother for christ sake do I even know you anymore Have your brain went to sleep out like a light you walked right out the front door headed down the highway to get milk and eggs from the milk man humming vaguely caregiving is truly giving a care for you memory care do you remember me when ever you do you'll find you too
