“Demagoguery” is truly an infectious venom, alive and well with us today in our modern twenty-first century. It was most certainly the warp and woof as witnessed for all to see in the twentieth century, for example, with the evil buffoonery, rank stupidity, and malevolent machinations of Hitler, Goebbels, Mussolini, Franco, and Tojo—just to name a few from an unforgivable gallery of rogues. There were certainly others too, without a doubt!! And, we see this same venom, as before, along with the same brand of unprincipled scoundrels, politicians, flim-flam charlatans, and hatemongers today in many countries challenging the historical antecedents of democracy, good governance, freedom of expression, tolerance, and common respect of societal values, whilst fanning the flames of hate, prejudice, narcissism, stupidity, racism, and discrimination. These individuals are quite certainly at home spewing this mindless venom. We just recently witnessed this very thing with the tragedy at Charlottesville. All this rips and tears at the very fabric of our collective human society and corrupts the very heart and soul of mankind. Demagoguery is the weaponized tool of all ready and willing Pied Pipers.
