Notes About The Poem

- Delicious Summer Scent -

Fragrant lilacs with flowers
                                   of purple, white or pink
                             As a sweet half-remembered kiss
                                in my grandmother's garden
                              They smell of June and summer
                                   A breathtaking scent that
                               comes floating with the breeze
                               The sweet, intoxicating aroma
                                  while nymphs dance in joy

                                 The fond memories emerge
                           the ticket back to when I was young
                             Silky soft feeling born in a cocoon
                                 in muted colors and soft light
                                      The scent of nostalgia
                               in a dimension beyond the visual

Kim Rodrigues March 21, 2021 at 5:15 PM I did not grow up with beautiful gardens. I saw my grandparents once a year and a couple of times us kids wore trumpet flowers on our fingers.
