Deeper and Deeper

This wave of judgement can’t withhold the amount of love that I have for you. It causes me to sink deeper and deeper into the sands of time, in which our friendship travels for centuries on end. The only reason to come up to the surface is the sound of your voice. It rings in my ears like a mockingbird’s song for the death of her young. When I surface, I see you there waiting for me. I lug myself through the sand to come near you, only to realize that you were never really there. Then I sink deeper and deeper into my solitude, waiting for the day that you actually come.

Kee, I had to read at least one of your poems tonight Your poem is heart rending. A really poignant write and I felt the pain of your solitude if it so be that this is an 'autobiography' of sorts. Your poem is very well written. I enjoyed the read. Thank you for sharing your talent. Charlene

While reading this impressive write, the memory of the late Barry White singing one of his hit songs came to my mind.
