Deep Green Forest

Far into the deep green forest
there is a lady slipper
Blooming all alone in the trees
a delicate sight to see
As if a princess left it there
on the lovely walking path
When the prince swept her off her feet
a trace of love, still behind
Near gurgling brooks and waterfalls
splashes of joy all around
Here within the deep green forest
blooming love is to be found

The poem's rhythm is easily understandable, Heidi. I adored your illustration of this flower that resembles a pair of woman's shoes. Warm hugs.

Heidi, There's a wonder in green paths, and the poems that can truly find them. I'm glad yours did. You're best sentinel watching over the treasured few. -Richard

Indeed they are delicate, feminine and colorful! Much enjoyed your description of this flower that looks like lady's slippers --aptly described by you as having been left by a princess. You bring forth the imagery of of brooks and waterfalls beautifully in this lovely nature poem.

Deep green, brown, orange etc. are all so alluring. I guess the memory of earth in our DNA. "Here within the deep green forest blooming love is to be found" Beautiful! I think that when we quiet everything else, get back to our roots, closer to our natural source -- there is only love. Joe.
