Deep Dreams

Our fondest dreams are those we find
submerged the deepest in our mind.

They are the oldest dreams of all
around which now has grown a wall.

My own wall has grown year by year,
and time to time I shed a tear.

Life’s wall so high - deep dreams so low -
I finally have to let them go.

An enchanting poem. I wish you success in the contest. As long as there is life there are dreams; there are desires, the wall you are talking about not withstanding. The dreams not based on reality have an in built wall in them and do not see the light of the day. Thanks for admiring my Tanka Foundation. For real growth strong foundation is needed. Without this any growth is not sustainable. This is what the shoot is telling to the clouds. Have a nice week end. -Mohammad

Great! Andrea... "the walls of reality esteemed; the walls of dreams(phantasmagoria) humbled by the claws of reality... just embrace reality... Captured the same idea in my poem PARADOX... hope u love it... Love.. Angel

Hello Andrea Maybe we can trick our minds to dream high rather than to dream low?? It is such a pleasure to dream! Happy holidays to you and to your family. I maybe out in soup again...but I wish to be back...to continue my story... Love Dalila

Lovely, although a sad ending but true for many as well. It's hard when dreams die but that is just another part of life I guess. Very nicely written. -- Sean

Though it's sad, but reality of time depicts truly. Every thing and every one are bound by time, so it's better let to go, if uncontrolled. Your acute sight has done it wonderfully. Loved always, bl

So sad at times to let go of dreams..but i guess that's why they're called dreams... On the otherhand in dreams everything is just the way we want it to be... and guess that's quite a feeling indeed... Happy thanksgiving sweet lady,God bless you always.

This reminds me of my Disappearing Dreams poem. Maybe I'll try entering it in this contest. You wrote this so simply and yet so profoundly. And so the echo slowly fades into the mist of night. Where only angels truely know the extacy of flight. Sweet dreams Andrea. :)
