Deep Breath

Deep breath It's just a place I'm just going to see My grandma Nothing else matters Don't look at anyone Look at your shoes Deep breath They're just old And medicated Left by their children Here at this place To die Deep breath No one's okay here Everything seems stable But medicated It's a false stability And it's killing me That single beep Following a heart beat My mind races Wondering what it would be like If that beeping suddenly Flat lined Deep breath She's not hooked up to the machine Someone in the distance is My mind wanders Does any one come to see the Vegetable hooked up to that machine That breathes for him Deep breath As we leave It's alright now But yet it's not That is not a place to live That's a place Where people go to die Deep breath Smell of cleaning products It smells like death Slipping through the heating ducts Deep breath Medicated Out of it All just waiting Hoping Praying For death To take them In her sweet, loving arms

I know the smell you describe so well. The smell of death in the air. Excellent vivid write.
