Deep Shadows of Autumn
DEEP SHADOWS OF AUTUMN
The departing sun low in the sky sees
Trees weeping into a carpet of russet shades
And hears birds’ silent chorus of mourning
In the deep shadows of autumn
As they gather strength for the cold ahead
