December's Transit

Days stream by
  leaves on a river
Nights drag on
  hard frozen ground

Life's promise deserted
  barren branches
December's transit
  bound for nowhere

December can be so desolate - we've had lots of cold rain out here in Portland!

We've been lucky here for the past week. Hope the good luck continues... and maybe come your way too! :) gw

great metaphor to create the vivid image of december's glum...soon will arrive the shortest day of the year and then...each day will increase in length and we will have spring arriving... hugs

Nicely Penned Gershon. December can bring cold frozen thoughts that leave us barren inside. Thanks for sharing

Loved this one my friend. I know i usually try to come up with something humorous but that would not be appropriate for something this beautiful and affecting. Nicely done GW.
