December

Instead of sleeping, waiting, lingering on,
let me take my stand!
Let me muster my resources,
and assume the dark command.

I have a purpose ... don't I?
There's a place within the stars,
that my soul's design is written,
and it burns! Oh, yes; it scars!

Yet I cannot withstand it,
no, I can ne'er refrain.
To withhold may be paradise,
but it will not leave me sane.

December, once ten, twelve became.
Destiny, once true, can be a game.
