Deceitful Senses

The alarm rang
Eagles sang
I opened my eyes
A strange sound sprang into my ears

With a coffee mug now empty
I sit and foresee my day
Thoughts many and inviting
But to have a go – there is no way
I am lost in natural senses

Mindlessly I stare into emptiness
Feeling like stoned
But being very sure
There is nothing wrong
But maybe my natural senses?

I want to be that eagle
Observing others from aside
But to human race I belong
So I blame my stubborn mind
And deceitful senses

By now the alarm has rung
The eagle has sung
And with my eyes wide open
I realize where my ego is held
