Debt Free

I will pay no more
I declare myself bankrupt
I cannot afford
the interest rates
All collateral is spent
so I must renege

So weary, so tired
of bearing these false burdens
Now I cut the cords
I cast off the load
and lay it before Thy feet
The debt is cancelled...

Doesn't it always seem like the bills and debt just keep piling up? Good write, Tim & best wishes.

Yup let um just try to get it! An elder in Mass said she couldn't afford the healthcare plan (sigh) told them to jail her if they like! Light & Love

Very clever, Tim, and quite witty as well. At least we don't have a debtors' prison in the U.S. We have a hard enough time paying to keep real criminals behind bars. Enjoyed! Love, Carolyn

And thankfully the Lord does cancel out debts. Interesting way this poem evolved. I wasn't expecting the ending. What a nice surprise. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us and for your kind comment. Karen

In a word .. POWERFUL ... excellent expression of an intricate weave connecting human debt to the spiritual kind of release from all debt when we give it all to HIM... great write Tim...luv.. "Sweetheart"
