Death, Where Are You

Afar I can still see a glow
Of lights dimmed to low
And sounds echoing hollow
                             Death, where are you..

Sway of lone pine tree
In a forlorn waltz by the sea
Begging you to set me free
                             Death, where are you..

Robbed of my only true love
Emotions raw on the wings of a dove
Breathless cries high above
                             Death, where are you..

What of destiny
And the arms of infinity
Have you forsaken me
                             Death, where are you..

What's amazing to me is how intensely you can portray the emotions you've expressed--You can't just intellectualize them either; you have to be able to feel them. I can't imagine feeling the raw wounds, the longing for death on the 'whim' of a lovers' abandonment...Guess I'm getting old, and you, my dear, are forever young! More power to you! Outstanding write, Line! :) gw

A life with no beauty, meaning and aim is but death! A life of void and loneliness is but death! A genuine thoughtful stance well depicted in your beauty. A joy to read your poem dear Line. The best of luck for the contest. Stay bright,

Somehow the happiness of death is hidden from us. But it seems like we really do not die. What dies are our sins and miseries. Nice write my friend.
