Death Is Serious

No one knows how long they'll live I guess it's much better that way Who among us really wants to know When we'll reach that final day? Please let it be a great big surprise Like maybe while eating ice cream Expire with a huge smile on my kisser Or perhaps pass away while I dream Death's quite messy at the best of times Did you ever hear someone say this “Mary had a really charming death! She even gave me a good-bye kiss!” Probably the absolute best way to me Is in the warm embrace of a loved one The shock could cause their death too Then off we'd both go when fun's done! Bet you're thinking, how can he make fun Of such a serious subject as death Hey! You ain't never going to avoid it, folks So enjoy life till your very last breath © Jack Ellison 2014

I like how you put humor on something that people look at as evil. It helps people accept death as something not so horrible.

At 79 years old, it tends to be on my mind a bit more than it used to be. However, I'm not obsessed with it! There's no escaping it so I'm just enjoying myself until that final day! A big plus is the camaraderie I have found here on the Soup! Huggs, Jack XXX

And whatever comes next be a brand new adventure! :) Good stuff, again! On a side note you should look up on Youtube the video Dumb Ways to Die... it's a hoot!

I always say I want to die like my old granddad, - peacefully in my sleep. Not kicking and screaming like the passengers in his car! ;)

Say it isn't so! I don't want to expire in the MIDDLE of eating my ice cream! Afterwards maybe!... But not DURING! LOL... Dragon's agreeing! He loves his ice cream almost as much as I love mine. You do make death serious... if Dragon and I have to miss our ice cream... LOL
