"Grief is the price we pay for love." Queen Elizabeth II In my life I have seen too much of death, been a prisoner to endless dark grief; though I have also known sweet love. And to my broken heart I hold that love, nothing can break that bond not even death; often, there are weep, weeping tears of grief. I am afraid to let go of my grief, if I let go . . . I may forget the love. Do the dead adore me in death ? Death and grief working as one to steal love.

Congratulations on your win. A lovely yet sad write/great picture. What a great/true ending. It should be a quote. Many years ago when my dad died, I did not sleep much the first year. I missed him more than words could say. One day I knew he was gone but his love/memories would be with me forever. I still miss him but love/memories are here everyday to love me and that give me peace. Have a blessed day writing away...........

Awesome photo and thought provoking poem. I KNOW love never ends. Oh we have a family miracle in which a dearly departed communicated beyond death and saved the life of a family member. I wrote about it in two poems. But we all grieve the best way and method for us. I still remember my deceased loved ones and I dream about them so it is like I moved from grief to this form of dealing with the loss. It works for me. Do what makes your heart heal and what works for you.
