Notes About The Poem

Nailing Jell-o to a wall Poetry Contest Sponsored By Suzette Richards 4/03/26

Poem based on my sister telling everyone dad had died with a smile on his face - it couldnt be further from the truth - his mouth was gaping open and he looked like a dead fish on a fishmongers slab

Death Becomes You

Pa died with a smile
My sibling’s in denial
When Pa went to god
He gawped like a cod!

A fish face with puckered lips. From what I know of her, it’s a grook about your sister, a crook.

Oh Jan! I suppose we see what we want to see in those situations. Very hard hitting grook!

My ex sister lied so often she should have a degree in it - he looked like the cold fish he truly was! hugs Jan x
