Death

v
" The distance traveled, the lifetime spent hurried times unraveled without lament "...Poet As each sun sets I'm a day closer to death I find these days are a more precious breath The darkness that waits I will not fear life will depart it will not persevere Nothing to nothing with life in between before and after I will sleep unseen Tears will fall and then they will fade along with my tombstone, it will degrade death will remain a master of change it comes when it wants to rearrange Blackness will come without any sorrow and steal my life from seeing tomorrow More than a thought, less than a dream death is forever it will end my life's gleam 2/7/23 contest writing challenge-D words Death sponsor Constance La France

Foretelling oblivion? It’s said the fear of death surpasses all other fears. If only we recognise that our luminous soul lives on and it’s only organic form that dies … Enjoyed your superbly written poem, Fredric. I’m sure it will do well in the contest, all the best
