Notes About The Poem

Dear Poetry Soupers

Dear Poetry Soup connoisseurs, and
courageous ones sharing and learning

There are those of you leaving me breathless
with your best, I must confess

Those vocabs astounds me to point
of fixation, research, memorization

Look at one poet's, "serendipitous" I now know
they're lover of words without obsession

Dear me, I arrived at Soup, hoping
my hobby would bud, but it blossomed

There are countless connoisseurs I wish
to thank; some have graced us with contest

Now and then I think of joining
them, but it's yet spring of my blossoming

My name is Iris, and there'll
be more thoughts on us soupers.

You add your own poetic flavor to the Soup, Iris ... the great thing about this community is the waves of inspiration and support I feel from so many great poets here. Keep being yourself and continuing to grow, poetess! :)

Hi Iris! I am glad that you not only formed a bud, but also blossomed. This is a fabulous site where blossom can turn to fruit...fruit that can be shared with others. There is only one drawback...time! ~ Keep your pen active:) Regards // paul

Oh Iris this is a lovely poem that I can relate to so much especially the 5th stanza - it took me a month to pluck up courage to join and I too am blossoming - from a complete beginner I have written over 1000 poems since Feb 2014 - it a bit of an addiction... but I can't think of a more rewarding one lol:-) hugs Jan xx7

Dear Jan, I recall you being first to welcome me to PS with much encouragement. I thank you for any criticism; notice your tack and diplomacy, and wittiness, and zero tolerance for gooble garb. Wow! a thousand poems and still counting. This calls for a book, and that's final.
