Dear God,
May your words be rooted deep,
To anchor my life grimly in faith;
Keeping my spirit away from temptations.
Whenever I want to say a word,
Guide this,my tongue, not to wander or lie,
That it may testify only of your goodness.
May my lips sing always of your love,
That redeemed me from the grave,
Years before I was brought to existance.
From the pits of this earth,
May may soul be rescued, cleansed and sanctified.
When my feet slip off your path,
May you hold my hand and keep me from falling.
To the cross, where your beloved son was crucified,
Keep my eyes fixed and my heart filled with hope,
As I wait for your second coming,
In prayer and repentance.
The joy that you give,
May I partake of it.
Amen.
