Dear Death Be Kind

Would you be kind to him dear death Can he peacefully take his last breath Without all the drama that surrounds Nor an after thought of what is bound? For the life he live is cruel as it is So taking it is an eternal bliss They say life is fleeting, it is true For one can die out of the blue. When he's gone they'll remember Make pretend it is sad when it's December For he's deeply missed they will exclaim Even all they ever know was his my name. The ones left will claim that care they built To lessen the burden of carrying the guilt They did nothing to reach out to him Before lights were low and his eyes went dim. So be kind dear death, lull him to sleep Let his final thoughts be his to keep.

Beautiful, enjoyed! I wonder now, if we substitute ’death’ with ‘breath’, each exhalation death, each inhalation new life, how does soul within our heart respond?
