Dear Dainty Butterfly
Dear dainty little butterfly flitting about in erratic flight.
I get but a fleeting glimpse of thee, tho' 'tis such a delight,
To see thee wafted by the winds as you flit about my lawn!
(Since you never settle down I wonder what you feed upon!)
How I look forward to thy daily visit with great anticipation.
Thou art one of the most exquisite creatures in God's Creation!
I marvel at thy aerobatic skill and I think it is my learned hunch,
That you are so adept at this so as not to become a falcon's brunch!
Don't get snatched by a mean old bird when darting to and fro!
Please watch thy six, little buddy, for I would miss thee so!
