Dear Bird

I sit every morning
Your voice an ointment on my soul
Even every night, I hear your sweet voice,
Serenading me into reverie
That branch, an inch from my window
you've made your home
From my room, i can see your beauty,
the fineness of your colour,
the distinctive length of your beak
In total admiration, i tried to reach out to you
But you flew!
I hear your song every morning,
when getting out of bed seem tedious
You sing encouragement into me
Even at night when i feel lonely,
you sing wonderful lullabies to me
Here is a letter to you
Just to say
Thank You!

I was saved by a bird right before tornado touched down here in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Your little gem of a poem reminds me; kindness swells in strange and mysterious ways. Welcome to soup's garden.
