Deaf To Duty

deaf to duty's strain
scarecrow guards the corn field still
a worthy presence

Congratulations on your winning placement with your wonderfully creative haiku, love the imagery of this in a field!

thanks, Tania, from a class on haiku which I took years ago. My teacher was a minimalist. Addition of the word "still" is a great pivot. Original was: deaf to duty / scarecrow guards the corn / presence.
