Days of Youth
Time’s repast, a daily entrée on it‘s menu,
A choice day to use or not and bid adieu.
Presenting the wrinkles wrecking my brow,
life’s accomplice takes a dubious bow.
The ways of the world were easy to understand,
once I pulled my head from of it’s shifting sand.
Strangely, It is myself that I did not know,
Who I was and where I could go.
In my mind I redo the scenes in so many takes,
(Act forty scene two, now let’s up the stakes).
All of this is only fodder for the present session,
Lord, am I ready? Help me with today’s lesson.
