Daylight Saving Time

Tonight we’ll lose an hour
But what I would like to know
Is where, exactly, do those minutes
Actually go?

They vanish like a finger snap
Magicians like to use
And just which minutes disappear
We do not get to choose.

At 2 a.m. we move the clocks
And suddenly, it’s 3.
Most people will not feel the loss
For Dreamland’s where they’ll be.

When morning comes, though, you can bet
A million folks will yawn
And all because they’ve lost an hour
Leading up ‘til dawn.

We’re told to change the clocks;
Nobody asked for our consent.
We acquiesce but wish we knew
Just where those minutes went.

First off, thanks for the reminder. And also thanks for stopping by and taking in a few. Let's hope the longer day melts some of this snow. Kind of gives you a headache don't it? Trying to wrap your mind around this strange phenomenon. Peace. :)

...love it, love it, LOVE IT!!! The sources for your delightful verses seem inexhaustible. The way you weave everyday language with impeccable, (and I mean IMPECCABLE) rhythm and rhyme into these gems of polished perfection boggles the mind. I am in awe... Blessings to you, Keith

Excellent Ilene ... I was contemplating writing something on this but you did a much better job than I could ever do. At least we change forward earlier and ahead later....Tim
