Daydreams

As daydreams drift along the wind,
to distant shores my mind does wander,
tender thoughts of life and love
within these dreams I always ponder...

I’m taken back to younger days,
       the carefree times and endless sunshine;
summer nights, good friends and cheer,
and morning walks along the shoreline.

And thoughts of lovers from the past,
       sweet memories of tender passion,
through my life have come and gone,
yet fill my thoughts in pleasant fashion.

But now as days are growing short,
I’m thinking of the time I squandered,
still I think of times gone by
as daydreams through my mind still wander.

Hi John It is never too late, nothing in life is ever squandered - every exp. fated, or ill fated and love in life, is a memory, and memories are what our life is made of - we will carry on making them until we no longer can! Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

Don’t you know that you’re made of stardust? You must be heaven sent, I can see your halo. Some of us contemplate reality when we are forced to face mortality. To have the time with years of knowledge is something some of us only dream of. No one knows what the future holds. Each day, a gift of it’s own. No looking back, only forward my friend. I have enjoyed pondering daydreams here with you. Thank you for sharing your innmost thoughts, John. <3 Berteena

A walk down memory lane John, we all do this. My grandfather once told me that his father told him that if he (my great grandfather) closed his eyes for 5 minutes he could remember almost everything that happened in his life. Ive tried it and its true! Great poem. Poetry Hugs, Jennifer.

And a daydream allows your mind to linger- which is wonderful indeed. Sometimes those moments of long ago, when love was light as air- are best when highlighted in the sky. :) A daydream on a cloud of white. ~ Brandy
