Day and Night
As the sun sinks behind another day,
the veil of night will have her say.
The moon shines bright on a shimmering lake,
a nocturnal kingdom will soon awake.
The wise old owl speaks his words,
while sounds of darkness are all that's heard.
Truth hides in shadows where starlight shines,
colors are lost to a world that's blind.
Dew blankets the ground as fog fills the air,
the pathway you know is now a snare.
The wind turns cold in hours so deep,
dreams dance in the minds of those who sleep.
When sunlight breaks the night creeps away,
a morning brings hope of a brand new day.
