Dastardly Deeds

DASTARDLY DEEDS

A man may mean goodness, grace, even gaiety
But his action brings betrayal to bear
His wisdom is left wantonly withering
And destruction brings doom
Due to his dastardly deeds
So beware the brazen betrayal
Lest you fall prey to his foolish follies

Darlene, in reviewing my poems and comments, I noticed I had failed to reply to your comment. Yes, there is a message in this poem and I hope those who read it will see it --- just as you did --- and take it to heart. Thanks for your support.

Good poem Curt. We always look on the outside of a person but we must be aware of what goes on on the inside. Beware of those who dont walk their talk. Well said in a short poem. Oliver

Thanks so much, Oliver! God looks upon the heart of man, not on his outward appearance. I see that you know the full meaning of doing that and I appreciate that in you. Looking on man's outward appearance indicates judgement toward them but if we look beyond that and see what is in his heart it makes a difference. I live my life as though I am being seen by others 24/7.

Elaine, I just read your entry in this contest. Such a situation as you described is all too often true. It is how we ultimately deal with the situation that matters. I pray that it is fictitious in your case, but if it's true, I feel you have handled it superbly due to the extreme character traits I detect in your writing. Congrats on your win.
