Darlings

they were
written
upon this very page
beautiful souls

so little warning
trimmed, cut,
and killed them-
my Darlings

can't see
dead words
they've
gone

animated
shining
brilliantly
executed

Hello Andrea, “Whenever you feel an impulse to perpetrate a piece of exceptionally fine writing, obey it—whole-heartedly—and delete it before sending your manuscript to press. Murder your darlings,” Sir Arthur Thomas Quiller-Couch

Mystic Rose Rose, It's hard to let them go, or is to really ...? “Murder your darlings,” is a popular piece of writing advice that is often attributed to William Faulkner, but which can actually be traced back to the English writer and surname collector Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch. -Tin House

TIR, Many thanks from a pauper soul. Not my concept though. Love the new handle BTW.., 'Rib'. Was it taken from Adam I wonder? I could get used to that. -Richard
