Dark Secrets

Here we are, not knowing what to say To each others' face, as we both are confused Which face do we say it to? The faces we show, or the ones we hide? We put the niceties on display, because reality can turn the tide The messed up part, it lives on, conflicts and fights It shows the worst of us, and the best we did to survive The only thing that matters is What's black and what's white What's wrong and what's right What's real and what's ruse What's the lie, and what's the truth I laugh at how naïve I was I thought of eyes as the sole form of truth But your eyes, they hide a sinister secret They hide all your sins, and the shame you had to deal with They cry out for help, Yet the cheer in them silences it all They want to glimmer with tears, Yet your gentle warmth dries it all I curse myself at how stupid I was I thought of your face as your true self But even this face, doesn't give up the devil in your details Upon that beautiful smile, A tremendous pain lies beneath it Whole yet hollowed on the inside, Your silky skin sheaths it It sheaths it all Seems like, my words are lying too My pen holds me back from revealing the truth It's not your eyes that gave it away Neither it was your face It was the beating of a second heart Inside you, Bedazzled and Hazed It looks like Adam finally found the forbidden fruit But it was too late to realize He planted his seed within you Kind of makes me think, What good was I as a brother? You grew up before me And now you're about to be a mother
