Dark Eyes

Black eyes
Those dark eyes
Like glistening
Polished gems
Round, circular
Obsidian
Marble stone glossed
And gleaming
They are beautiful tunnels with light at the end
They are marvelous well bottoms with overhead pinpricks of blue sky and sunlight shining through the hole
They're like charcoal the way they smoulder
They shimmer with soul
They charm you during a smile
and turn the face into a warm stove on a winter day
They intrigue you with a glance,
keep secrets like the deepest parts of the ocean
Like an ocean surface covered in a thin layer of oil
Contents hidden from view
That might sound crude
But that's the effect
They are ancient
They are a gulf of potential fuel
and fire
They are like the smoke from that fire the way they make you hold your breath when you first gaze into them
And they stupefy the brain the longer you stay
They are ravishing
Playful
Tantalizing
Innocent
Sexy
Mysterious
Out of this world
They are the secrets of the universe condensed to a space between two lids
