Dark Clouds Linger Over
Dark clouds linger over
Pain an Hate surrounds this home
Laughter an Joy is not allowed.
Cut's an Bruises fade away
I try an stay away.
Dark clouds linger over
Knifes an Belts leave large swollen welts.
Black an Blue turn to Hue
Broken bones are a few
Clothes that smell of pew.
Dark clouds linger over
Locked away Hid from others
Wishing that my Mother would stop
My heart only aches an drops
As my father grabs the belt that pops.
Dark clouds linger over
One slap, two slap, three slap, four
Mommy hits my head on the living room floor
I lay there still as can be
wishing that I wasn't me.
Dark clouds fill this home
I lay on this cold basement floor
chained to a bolt an locked up tight
just out of sight only at night.
Cold an alone is this home.
