Dare I Ask Him

I pray to Him for life, good health Dare I ask Him too for wealth Seems so selfish, even crass A request devoid of any class... So, ask only for your basic needs With what He gives, perform good deeds He'll be there watching every hour With increasing wealth you will be showered Use it wisely, help your brother Forever honor your father and mother... For there's nothing that God won't do to help you be your very best you

If any god answered prayers, wouldn't there have been peace in Jerusalem THOUSANDS of years ago?

This morning, our newspaper reports Israeli archaeologists have uncovered a 2,700-year-old toilet complete with septic tank in Jerusalem, and they are now examining the contents, so now you can be certain there was a piece period there!

Actually, there was peace in the region thousands of years ago. When Israel was in the ascendancy -- think Kings David and Solomon, etc. -- the entire region stayed pretty quiet. Even today, without Israel right in the center, one can't even imagine all the wars that would be fought over Jerusalem. Almost every Arab nation in the region claims it as 'their spiritual homeland,' which, of course, is bunk -- as their two holy cities are Mecca and Medina, the heartland of the Arabian peninsula from which Mohammed sprang. GW, I think there's much truth in your couplets. So, why are so many of the so-called "preachers" saying God wants us to be wealthy?????
