Danger

My perception has drastically changed over the course of time I constantly follow danger although his heart is no longer mine Like a baby, through lust our love was conceived He grabbed me and his touch made me believe I remember drinking from his same cup While frivolously visioning a future with just us Now danger, which I didn’t fear leaves me scared Maybe it’s because I never know if he’s really there So many times, from the words of my mouth I’ve confessed To an occurring addiction, saw my conviction, but gave him the best Danger is also not ready to let go and let me be Even with closed eyes, we’re all that we see In every fantasy, every melody, there he stands…lurking I try to scream, but none of my vocal organs remain working I feel his presence, his intense breathing on my neck I tremble because through his darkness, I cannot see even a speck But his touch is familiar and my muscles are no longer tense Danger has a way of keeping me on suspense I turn around to face him or rather his shadow He’s disappeared……… Danger leaves my heart hollow.
