Dandelions

Many lawns are dotted With these yellow tufts of gold And all my life, “They’re ugly weeds!” Is what I have been told. Yet dandelions add some pop Of color to the green And though they are invasive, Add some beauty to the scene. A gardener will argue That they simply don’t belong, But since I have no garden, Such a statement just seems wrong.

Whether yellow or gray, I enjoy dandelions. For one, the leaves are edible and high in vitamins; two, they make a good wine (almost like a Sauternes). When they turn gray they remind me of a geodesic sphere. / Maurice

I've just got the flower heads off the lawn - one glimmer of sunshine and they raise their golden heads! hugs Jan xx

It's all in one's point of view, I suppose. I think of dandelions almost the same way I think of sunflowers. Both are "weeds", really, but they certainly do add a "pop of color" to wherever they appear.

I’m a big fan of the lowly dandelion. They’re among the first blooms the honey bees find in the spring. Much enjoyed. John
