Daffodils
Daffodils
Through the valleys, by the streams
The sunlight glances through the trees
And there in the meadow so tall and proud
Bright yellow daffies like a bustling crowd
Their heads sway gently in the evening breeze
Bobbing and dancing, so eager to please
Their trumpets playing a silent tune
From morning til night under a silvery moon
Some stand together as if in a meeting
Chatting and laughing and sending a greeting
To others who stand in single file
As if on a march to a nearby stile
Days and weeks and years pass by
And each time I see them they make me smile
With their long green stems and yellow frill
The sunny and bright Golden Daffodil
