Dads Bar

It all started with a rusty old fridge out the back Full of JD, Jim beam and beer, it was packed His mates would come over and stand in the yard Filling the recycle bin, just wasn't hard Until dad got the idea to get 44 gallon drums For all the cans and bottles after a few rums "We will take the cans and make a couple of bucks At the scrap yard down the road that has all the trucks" The weekends at our place were a lot of fun When the drums were full, then the dollars begun Every cent was saved in a jar next to his bed It was for the bar dad had designed in his head It only took a couple of months to buy all the wood His mates all chipped in and did what they could The next weekend they had a working bee to think One of the guys even gave dad a second-hand sink Before we knew it dad had finished his great bar And all of his mates say "Its the best by far" Dad still has all of the 44 gallon drums And he still gets ideas after he's had a few rums So Fridays all the JD, Jim beam and beer he stacks And laughs when he looks at the rusty old fridge out the back
