Daddy I

daddy I sure do remember
how you were so very proud
how you were so very virile
how you were so very strong

daddy I got a weird feeling
that something somehow isn't right
that something somehow's out of place
that something somehow doesn't fit

daddy I was just wondering
is this what it's really about
is this what it really comes to
is this how it really all ends

daddy I got a strange question
why do you stare straight ahead
why do your eyes look so vacant
why do you not know my name...

Tim, this poem really hit home with me, as it immediately recalled a news story this week of a 4 year old found with his dead mother in an apartment. Great job! Congratulations!
