Daddy

In this cluttered attic of my mind,
I harbor so many memories of Daddy.
The ones that make me smile
and those that hurt are inextricable.

Congratulations and a hearty huzzah on your win Janice. Wonderful description of the ambivalence, the ups and downs, the ins an outs of a parental relationship. All the pain and joy remembered then stored away. So nicely done. Blessings!

My Dad was always my hero, he never hurt my feelings once in his lifetime, unfortunately my mother did, however, we always forgive, but try as I might I cannot forget! Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Not as long, but just as good as the one written by the late Sylvia Plath.

Reads like a good contender to me for the contest. A subject we both are familiar with because of life situations. Thanks for dropping by my page with congrats. Sara

A poem that stands on its own Janice, when we delete unwanted files on our computers they're gone, shame we cant do the same with our memories. Tom
