Dad and I
Upon the couch I sit,
Leather on my skin.
The warmth of another amazing human next to me.
The clicking sound of two computers.
Two souls freeing themselves into verse and prose.
With no fear to go,
nothing to hold them back,
but the mind... and maybe the cat.
Two souls much alike,
In mind, souls and heart.
Both have the gift of words,
both have felt that hurt.
Both have loved like no other,
Both have very caring mothers.
Both have fell in love with poetry soup,
no matter the droop.
Twas the middle of the night,
both were asleep with minds alight.
I love you dad.
