Dad

A dark cloud envelops me
   An evil presence within
   Running, crying, trying to hide
   Escape non-existant
   Bruised and battered
   The beatings were normal

   His poison was drink
Succumbing to the beast, greeting it warmly
Needing, wanting, there was no control

   I am two from one
   My disorder is known
   My life is in ruin
   My brain a mess

Even through death his legacy haunts me
   Despair, anger, solitude
   We loathed him, feared him
Through all that was and all that will be
I loved him dearly and always will. Dad

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
