Dad, I would bargain with God For your return But I know your suffering has ended It would be selfish of me To take your peace And that’s not what you have taught me I will always want you back Your time with me so brief Sometimes I feel I can’t go on But that’s not what you have taught me Please guide my every step And gently watch over me I will always be your little girl And that’s what you always taught me
