This is not really the choice we have, but the main-stream media will make it seem simple:

Repeat of the four-year refrain
Pits demented versus insane
We who are pundits
Say please call it quits
And would toast their obits with champagne

Just on time, Limerick, Duke. The exhaustion and frustration with the repetitive and divisive nature of political discourse, particularly in the context of a four-year election cycle. The use of the word "obits" adds a touch of dark humor to the poem.

SP, I listened to the state of the union message last night. I do think Joe is an OK guy. The message is good, but the delivery vehicle is falling apart. I guess I would rather drive an old car than one that would drive me off a cliff. It's really something to watch. A real show is about to begin.

Great, timely limerick about those four- year, very well-paid actors. Great rhyming and at first I saw orbits at the end, but both words fit as good. Funny thing, not a one of them have ever swung by for a cup of coffee.

David, they are indeed actors! They would be very fortunate if given to socialize with us!

Your photos are great...Media are worse than the politicians.. should they not be neutral? Clearly they are not... another great limerick..

They sure have an obligation to report the truth and not doing so has become a huge threat to any democracy. As it is, money is driving most of what we see in the mass media. If we start asking deep questions about all this, it becomes very disturbing.

Dear Duke, your poem effectively encapsulates the weariness and absurdity of political cycles. The succinct yet impactful verses highlight the exasperation felt by many amidst the perpetual clash of ideologies. Your wit shines through, offering a sardonic commentary on the state of affairs. Here's to hoping for a break in this relentless cycle. - Blessings, Daniel
