Cut Throat City
I live in New York
Supposely the best city in the world
Tourists travel from all over
just to visit the big apple
But they don't know what the locals do
It's a cut throat city and you have to be strong
or you'll get frozen solid and than crushed
A place where dreams can be made
but mostly likely are broken
The rich dominate over the poor
and though were supposed to be so diverse
racism and biases still occur
The city of the Bright lights
the one with the motto " the city that never sleep"
It really means while you're sleeping
someone else is working harder than you
To stay on your grind means to never close your eyes
were more about getting capital cause living here is hard
It's all about the flash and the outer appearance
Money spent to look good no matter how your feeling
because people analyze and make assumptions
and throw swords deep like Hercules to wound you
The education system in New York is tougher
than any other place you'll probably find
You have to be on top of your game
or you will get left behind
I live in New York
Supposely the best city in the world
and even though it has it's problems
I wouldn't live anywhere else
