Cupid's Cruelty
Hopeful he is, as he looks to me,
Dreaming of the curves of my articulate body;
A dream he cannot have.
He cries, knowing love is harsh,
For Cupid did only hit him, and him alone,
As I march, arm in arm with another much fairer and greater than he.
The pains of unreciprocated desire bash the hearts of those who pay the price,
To love.
