Cupid Pulls Back the Bow

I recall with wonder when first we met -
You were in pigtails and I was on skates.
Too young for the thoughts of romance as yet,
We saw ourselves friends, but never as mates.

Now I recall when I noticed your eyes -
I had never seen that deep of a blue .
My heart skipped a beat to my great surprise,
Cupid pulled back his bow - an arrow flew.

As the years passed we explored each other,
And came to know all that makes up our love.
You became lover and wife and a mother,
And now I give thanks to our Lord above.

Our love has aged like the finest of wine..
Will you always be my sweet Valentine?
