Cupid Beamed One Night
I’ll ever cherish that Valentine’s night
You ventured, at last, up into my room
And, trembling, you paused, a beautiful sight,
One tight with nerves, feeling lured to your doom.
Yet our love impelled, thrived fully in bloom—
We kissed and caressed, two lovers denied,
So long denied that you bashfully cried
‘Til with me you slipped under bed covers
Where passion flared up, anxieties died,
And Cupid beamed for new joyous lovers.
