Cuffing Season

Cuffing Season

   Frightful scenes of cabin fever
during the lonely, cold winter
give reason for cuffing season
and placation for the freeze-in.

   The physical shivers over
frightful scenes of cabin fever,
stuck indoors with no companion
for comfort or intervention.

   The ominous clime messenger
signals the psyche to weather
frightful scenes of cabin fever
and seek a mutual partner.

   And laugh away dreadful winter’s
frightful scenes of cabin fever
by sharing hearts of utmost zest
throughout the chilly love-in fest.

Note:
   “Cuffing season” refers to a period of time when single people begin looking for short-term partnerships to pass the colder months of the year. Cuffing season usually begins in October and lasts until just after Valentine’s Day (February 14). The use of the word “cuff” references handcuffs but is slang in the same vein as "hooking up" or "getting hitched." (Merriam-Webster Dictionary)
