Cry of the Night Is Seldom Heard

Cry of the night is seldom heard When ailing heart's silent tears fall, Muffling sound of voices unheard Trapping her behind callous wall. When choice is stark, facing soul dark Cry of the night is seldom heard As dreams deferred squander the mark And bawl of love remains interred. Enduring pain, feelings are stirred, If no one dares to sound alarm Cry of the night is seldom heard-- Alone she bears impending harm. As stone-cold beats silently moan, Hurt by fear of bashing incurred And thrashed by blows of someone known, Cry of the night is seldom heard. Deep sigh. I don't understand how anyone could ever treat another human being like this. In this way. It is very wrong. My heart aches for them. Your thoughts curl gently around me. ~ Brandy

Wow, it would be awesome if those of us who live alone still had a way of making their voices known. It is always sad to read about people who have been abused. Very beautiful, Vijay! Best wishes for a win. Hugs, Carolyn

What the night had enfolded in its darkness.. the artistic beauty of your words has unveiled the "ailing heart".. their "silent tears".. and given sound to "silent moans".. The recurrent refrain of the"cry of the night" has wonderfully accentuated the tone of woe and heartache! So beautiful a poetry, as always, dear Vijay! A great pleasure to read! Definitely a FAV! An outshining win in the contest! Best regards and blessings.

For every person we KNOW is abused, I wonder how many there are that we just don't know about! Emotional, well-written poem, Vijay. Janice

Yes you got that right, Andrea. Many stories out there of abuse at the hands of someone known (even a husband). I agree, so sad, but true. Much appreciate Andrea--many thanks.

Sad that many elderly people live alone and when disaster strikes their cries are not heard. Well written Vijay and good luck. Tom.

Yes indeed--older people suffer. Not uncommon to hear about mistreatment at the hands of those who are assigned to care for them. Much appreciate Tom--many thanks.
